Information we collect

• Your name, phone number, email address and mailing address
• Your date of birth and learner’s licence number, which we need to keep driver training records
• Your progress in the online theory course and the record of your in-car lessons
• Records of payments for the course

This website itself does not use tracking cookies or analytics. It only receives personal information if you contact us.

How we use your information

• To register you and create your Moodle account
• To schedule your in-car lessons and keep a record of the lessons you complete
• To track your progress and confirm when you finish the course
• To report course completion to Service Nova Scotia, as required by law
• To contact you about your course

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We only share it:

• With Service Nova Scotia (Registry of Motor Vehicles) when the law requires it
• With service providers that host our learning platform and email, who must keep it confidential
• When we are required to by law

How long we keep it

We keep your records for at least five years after you complete the course, as required by Nova Scotia’s driver training regulations. After that, we delete them securely.

How we protect it

Your information is kept on password-protected systems, and only Avanza Driving School staff who need it can see it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also withdraw your consent, but we may then be unable to provide the course. If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
