What you need
To take the online theory on Moodle and complete the Full Course.
Hardware
- A computer (Windows or Mac), laptop, tablet or smartphone
- A screen of at least 10 inches is recommended for the lessons; a phone works for quick reviews
- A stable internet connection: Wi-Fi or broadband, at least 5 Mbps recommended for video
- Speakers or headphones to hear the video lessons
- Enough battery or a charger for longer study sessions
Software
- An up-to-date web browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge
- JavaScript and cookies enabled in your browser (Moodle needs them to work)
- Pop-ups allowed for our Moodle site, so lessons and quizzes open correctly
- A PDF reader to open course documents (most browsers include one)
- Optional: the free Moodle app for iPhone or Android, with a recent version of iOS or Android
- An email account to receive your login details and course notifications
- Your Moodle username and password, which we give you when you register
For in-car lessons
- A valid Nova Scotia learner’s licence (Class 7)
- Bring your licence to every lesson
- Glasses or contact lenses if you need them to drive
